Dr. Varghese received a B.Sc. from Kerala University (India), an M.Sc. from Gujarat University (India), a Ph.D. from Rutgers University, and Postdoctoral training from Harvard Medical School. He had a long career, spanning over three decades, in scientific research, teaching, and regulatory compliance, working in various capacities at the New Jersey Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center at Hartford, University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is a recipient of awards from the National Institutes of Health, Donaghue Research Foundation, and Hood Foundation. He published several peer-reviewed scientific articles in the field of gene regulation in various scientific journals. Over the years, he also pursued his interest in writing poetry and published poems in local magazines. Following his retirement, he dedicated more time to writing poetry, which led to compiling this collection.
